The national anthem of Qatar, known as "As-Salam Al-Amiri" (Arabic: السلام الأميري), was officially adopted on December 7, 1996, following the accession of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani as the Emir of Qatar.
The anthem is a tribute to the Emir and expresses themes of pride, loyalty, and commitment to Qatar's heritage and future.
