Criticism of Scratch Remixing Spam Bots

Intro

Scratch is a beginner-friendly, educational website where kids can make games, animations, and stories. But recently, I noticed a serious problem: random people started remixing my cursed version of a Minecraft platformer, Error 403 (not HTTP 403). When I clicked on their remixed projects, they didn’t exist. A few days later, other random accounts kept remixing my latest projects, even after I changed them from public to private.

Community Feedback

I asked the Scratch community in the forums, “Why do I see annoying remixing bots?” Some people explained that these bots are controlled by a grown man who uses them to harass kids and abuse Scratch Team. These bots even abuse JavaScript to automate remixes, which is really bad and unfair to the community.

How They Abuse

Conclusion

We don’t know exactly why these bad actors do this, but it’s clear they are harming Scratch. If you are a Scratcher or a new Scratcher, report these bots immediately to Scratch Team to protect yourself and the community. Let’s keep Scratch safe and fun for everyone.
